Our Farmers

In 1999, Restaurant Nora became the first certified organic restaurant in the country. Over 95% of everything on our menu is supplied by certified organic and biodynamic growers and producers that we have sought out and supported over the years.

Organic farming involves growing fruits and vegetables without the use of synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, or genetically modified organisms, and raising livestock without the use of hormones and antibiotics. Integral to this is the maintenance of healthy, productive soil, which is achieved through composting, crop rotation, non-synthetic pest control methods, and cover crops.
